KVK, Malyal organized 4 days Skill Training Programme on “ Value Addition to millets” from 3rd to 6th March, 2023 at KVK Malyal under SC SP project, 2022-23. The training started with inaugural session on 03-03-2022. Dr. N.Kishore Kumar, SMS (Extension) and Co-Principal Investigator, of SC SP Project, KVK, Malyal welcomed the participants explained about the objectives of the programme, Dr. S. Vahini, E.O. (Grade-I Supervisor), Dept. of WD & CW, Mahabubabad participated as resource person and delivered lectures on Nutrional Importance of millets and role of millets in human health." On 2nd day (04-03-2022), the trainees were taken on Exposure visit to Gudur “Annapurna Home Foods “to learn about value addition to millets for small entrepreneurship and practical session on Preparation of millet recipes (Ragi laddu, jowar laddu, murukulu and Jonna payasam). On 3rd day (05-03-2022), Dr. S. Vahini, E.O. (Grade-I Supervisor), Dept. of WD & CW, Mahabubabad participated as resource person and delivered lectures on different millets recipes preparation and practical session on Preparation of millet recipes (Jowar Palli laddu and Ragi milk shake). On 4th day (06-03-2022), Smt. A.Sarala kumari, Associate Professor (Rtd), PJTSAU, delivered lectures on preparation of Millet food products and Success stories of Millet food entrepreneurs”. Later, a practical session was held where the trainees were given hands on training in preparation of different millet based food products. The trainees prepared different millet products like, korra laddu, jonna laddu, jonna murukulu and millets pakodi, etc. In the valedictory session, Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal created Awareness on International year of millets and rural youth can form groups and utilize the opportunity for entrepreneurship to start and expand the business, 30 no. of SC women trainees from Visampalli village attended the training.
